 Entry for a contest I probably wont win, but its always fun to enter :XD:
If there's anything that does look like it needs changing, please let me know! Also, for the backround characters, should I continue using wisps or should I do the little animals from the original screensavers?

Just goes to show, even when your Sonic and your underwater, missiles flying all over the place, having to rely on ring bubbles, pink wisps popping those ring bubbles, and your wisp buddies and your bro Tails having trouble with dodging the incoming missiles, you can still have fun

This is very awesome ! I think you shuld put more shadows on Sonic's blue area ! I wish you luck !
By the way , do you use dodge and burn tools to shade in Sonic's muzzle , belly and arms ?

thank you! :D about the burn and dodge, thats yes and no. well for the dodge, no. But for the burn, basically i find the shadowing color i want on the color pallette, and paint where i want the shadows to be. Then, i use the burn tool to intensify certain spots of the shadows, since when it comes to Sonic Screensaver style, some parts of the shadowing are more intense than other parts. hope that makes sense ^^;

You're welcome ! I've read some tutrials about digital coloring , and they adviced us not to use burn and dodge tools , anyway , I find them work properly for Sonic style , except for tan , they make the shadow on it look "yellower" than what they should be , that's why I asked ! ^^

I really think you give 'spaghetti arms' a proper appearance, cause Sonic looks a little flimsy, and yet still entertaining in an interesting kind of way~ ♫ Also, I feel the wisps add to the underwater scenario better than the animals, assuming this is taken from 'Aquarium Park' stage. Chao are always an option, though~ :dummy:

I like the vibrant colors you put here, the fluffy white with the contrast of rich blue is really nice. Not too bright, not too cool. The missiles might need a bit of color on them to tell them apart from the white of the background, I kept thinking they were eggs due to being white all over, not until I noticed their tails, :slow:

lol i did spaghetti arms cuz i thought the skinny arms looked like that :XD: oh yeah that is a good idea i should also try chao at some time thank you for the idea :D

you might be right, i did airbrush the outside to make the outer missile more visible, but i guess it got cut off ^^;, so there might not be much i can do there

i was actually intending them to look like "eggs" considering Eggman is firing them
and thank you very much for the advice! :D i will try to fix the outer part of the missile the best i can

Well IMO, the wisp fit well for this theme because of the mystical airborne water. It's basically the "one-that-goes-with-the-theme" choice.

Very fun and colorful.
Is Sonic sweating because of all the places to have fun, he's underwater?
/starts to hear the scary countdown music until he runs out of air/

Love it! It's so bright and airy (and watery!), it looks great!

I do think you could use some more contrast around Sonic, his lower body gets a little lost down there. Maybe a darker background, or a more distinct light source? It's fun to look at regardless, though!

lol i dont get it :XD: you mean the white parts that get lost in the light streak? and thank you for the kind words and advice :D

Oh, I didn't even recognize that was any sort of "streak" and just abstract background stuff! xD But what I was actually referring to is his forward leg, even with the glowing light around it, he's still almost the same blue as the blue rocks behind him.

On the other side, his leg actually sticks out against the white (and so does his arm) really well, so the connection to the hand and foot are still really strong, even though his glove and sock are white, they stand out against the blue and red of the leg and shoe (but you could still push it more, to pop out the sock and glove more). I think Sonic's gloved hand at the top is actually more problematic, since it blends with the water surface and the clouds.

Just compositional nitpicking really, don't sweat it! xD
